• Q: what is the EnvivioTV plugin ?
• A: this plugin which is used only for downloaded movies enables Windows Media Player to decode and play in full screen the movies which are in MPEG4 format, a high performance compression standard that we are using to provide DVD quality high definition in a reasonably sized file.

• Q: I need to install the EnvivioTV plugin, how do I do it ?
• A: you just have to click on HERE in order to download the EnvivioTV plugin. Once the download is complete open the file you just downloaded to install the plugin automatically.

• Q: how long does it take before a movie starts running in streaming mode ?
• A: it takes about 5 seconds before the movie starts playing automatically

• Q: must I view content as soon as it arrives on my computer ?
• A: if you have chosen a rental/download you can view the movies whenever you want to (in a time frame of 48 hours or 7 days). If you are viewing using streaming you can pause the movie and return to it whenever convenient

• Q: can I save the movies to my hard drive to watch them later?
• A: yes. If you have chosen the rental/download option the file is on your hard drive and you have either 48 hours or 7 days from the moment you downloaded to watch the movie as many times as you want to

• Q: I want to watch parts of a movie, what should I do?
• A: either you choose the rental/download option and you can do what you like with the movie (within a time frame of 48 hours or 7 days) or you can view in several parts by choosing the scene you want to watch each time

• Q: can I make a copy of the film I have ordered?
• A: yes but you can only watch the movie on the computer you used to download it

• Q: I have rented/downloaded a movie, and I would like to see the beginning again. Can I ?
• A: you can see the beginning, the middle or the end as many times as you want to. The movie is available for you for 48 hours or 7 days

• Q: can I view a movie that I have downloaded on other computers ?
• A: our films are protected against illegal copies out of respect for the authors and producers. You can only watch the movies on the computer you used to download them

• Q: can I save a movie I have downloaded to a DVD ?
• A: downloaded movies can be saved to a DVD for storage purposes (up to 4.7 Gb) or even on a CD if the file size is less than 600 Mb. You can do this to make space on your computer hard drive, however the DVDs you burn yourself cannot be used on your living room DVD player

• Q: can I play a program I burned to a DVD on my living room DVD player ?
• A: no. The movies you download and copied to a DVD yourself cannot be used on a DVD player. Each movie is protected against illegal copying out of respect for its authors and producers, and up till now our system cannot be used on a home DVD player. However you can connect your computer to your TV

• Q: can I watch a movie on my television?
• A: yes, whether you are using streaming or downloads all you have to do is connect your computer to your television

Configuration - Technical questions

• Q: what do I need to be able to use Video-X.com?
• A: Computer : a PC with at least a 1 Ghz processor, 256Mb RAM and a 64 Mb graphics card. And if you want to rent/download movies you need anough free space on your hard drive (2 Gb)

For viewing/streaming movies you need a broadband connection of at least 1024 kbps Be aware that often a theoretical 1024 kbps connection has a lower bandwidth. • A: under Linux you can only access viewing/streaming but for the moment you cannot use rental/download

• Q: can I use Video-X.com with Firefox?
• A: using Firefox you can only access viewing/streaming but for the moment you cannot use rental/download

• Q: I only have a dial-up modem, can I watch the movies ?
• A: only partially, using a Macintosh you can access viewing/streaming but for the moment you cannot access rental/downloads. You can use Parallels (Windows emulation for Mac Intel), or BootCamp, partially. You will only have access to rental/downloads. Download time will be more or less long depending on the capacity of your connection

• Q: can I watch movies when I am not connected ?
• A: absolutely, you can watch downloaded movies (in a time frame of 48 hours or 7 days depending on your choice)

• Q: how can I watch a movie on my TV ?
• A: connect your computer to your TV using one of the many kits available (with or without cables, either use a media center such as ViiV or a DMA type connector which connects to the TV and the hifi and accesses your downloaded movie library via the local network.

Tricks

• Optimising your PC
• Don’t forget to disable your screen saver as well as any other programs which use up your bandwidth and/or PC resources (type : peer-to-peer software, instant messaging software, message clients (Outlook), Windows Update, antivirus software running a complete analysis, ...)

• Optimising your Internet connection
• We recommend that you use a physical cable connection (Ethernet) rather than Wi-Fi. If you are using a laptop make sure you are running on the mains supply and not on the battery.

• Remove malware files
• While you surf on the Internet you can unawaringly download Spyware to your computer hard drive. This type of software will use your Internet connection without your permission to transmit data to whoever wants to consult it. They use a lot of bandwidth which is why we advise you to remove them. To do this you can download, among others, « ad aware », software whose role is to detect and remove any sypware from your computer. • Full screen mode
• Profit from the best possible image quality by watching your movie in full screen mode! To do this, once the movie is playing, click on the « full screen » button. The movie then plays in full screen mode. To return to normal mode click on the button on the bottom right hand of the screen « Quit full screen mode ».

• Sound
• In order to get the best possible sound we advise you to adjust the volume i) using the buttons on your computer, ii) using the volume icon on the bottom right hand of the Windows status bar and finally iii) using the volume settings in Windows Media Player. If your sound card is not modern or you are using a laptop you may find it necessary to plug headphones in to your computer to get better quality sound.
